Cheers

do you know what the difference is between the 4XV and the 5PW? Ive seen both on ebay

CRAIGR - 21/10/10 at 07:33 PM

5PW is titanium i believe and has a small cat in the end 4xv is carbon looking and stainless (easier to modify and weld). Aside from that they the same size i think.

cheers mate - seen a couple of 4SV on ebay so keeping an eye on them.

Need to know size as putting a tiger cage(d) on soon and want to see about clearance

Can itself is 140mm in diameter and 610 from end of tailpipe to end of Can, you obviously cut and shut the inlet pipe to suit.

Reckon that should be ok - will keep watching ebay for a nice carbon one and then see about getting the tail pipe/ inlet etc to weld on

How loud are they? dont want too loud but want a nice sound. Running car engine as well

4xv one is well quiet but bear in mind the bike was only about 130bhp so if you've got more than that it may prove restrictive.
A Modded 4xv can shown here

Rolling road showed 147bhp so not that far off

Anybody else know if getting this can would be an issue? I dont want to restrict the power especially as i will be shoving a cage on soon

Ah! Just to interject and say thanks Craig. I have a 5PW one that I was having loads of trouble welding a reducer onto. The filler was just lumpy and brittle. I thought it was stainless

Davedew - 22/10/10 at 09:26 AM

Is it not just the actual end can that is titanium, and the pipe work is still stainless? Reason I ask is I have one but haven't got round to trying to alter it yet!!

Might end up looking for another silencer if it is going to be a pain to weld.

Has anybody else had any power limiting issues with the stainless / carbon 4XV exhaust running on a cec?

mistergrumpy - 22/10/10 at 12:27 PM

Dave. From my attempts I'd say the pipework is also titanium. I was trying to weld it with a stainless rod and it was just pinking like glass cracking and very brittle.
I think we're both in the same boat.

Looks like i'll be rethinking that one then. Have to stick it back on ebay and see if it goes.
