Been striping the Duratec down and can't figure out how to remove the injectors and fuel rail. Don't want to break anything so thought I should ask you guys!

Disconnect the fuel hose, remove the injector wire plugs and the fuel rail is just a couple of bolts IIRC... then give it a sharp tug to pull free... the injectors should come with it.

So are the injectors just push fit? I have taken out the two bolts that held the fuel rail onto the head but assumed the injectors would screw or clip into the head?

As said 2 bolts and fuel pipes.
PS dont loose the spacers under the bolts.

Nothing fancy retaining the injectors in the head... just the o-ring seal on the injector itself and pressure from the bolted in fuel rail.

yes, just two 10mm bolts if i remember correctly, and then just pull.

the injectors are just push fit.

Well that didn't go to plan :0)

The bolt are out, no wires and fuel line cut. The injectors wobble but leaning on the engine with one hand and pulling with the other they didn't budge (but I moved the engine on the floor) do I just need more welly?

PS - I am going to run it on carbs so how do I block these holes off in due course? I assumed I would just screw a blanking plug in but if they're not threaded I won't be able to do that?

Sharp tug... they can be a bit sticky!

Speak to Flak Monkey about blanking plugs for the injector holes... he may be able to help!

hi, i got a set of plugs made to push in to the injector holes, well freeze them and hammer them in.

more welly, and try and pull one end off to start with, and a bit off a wiggle wont hurt

Gently lever against the block at each end, a little at time - they will come out. They are only held in with O rings at each end of the injectors.

Tip. ...... after running for a few thousand miles getting V hot and cold, the 'O' rings around the injectors start to bond with the metal in the hole in which they live.

Just give them a HARDER tug.

Cheers chaps, levered against the block and out they came. Now to cleaning it up a bit!
