tompat3463 - 10/4/11 at 07:18 PM

Hi guys..

Nearly got my indy blade running how I want it to run but sometimes when Im driving it.. sometomes not even fast.. I seem to find a false neutral

What is false neutral and how does it happen ??

Can it be cured ??

Can it damage my gearbox ??

A false neutral is simply a point between 2 gears (not 1st and 2nd) where you have neither selected and therefore no drive and big embarrassing rev ups at the most uncool time

What sort of linkage do you have, cable or rod?
Does it ever jump out of gears once in them?
Are you using the clutch for all changes up and down?

It sounds like you may be being too "gentle" but lets find out a bit more

What ever is wrong you need to sort it out before you drive it too hard.

Guess how I know

gear linkage is Rod.. I am tempted to go for cable in the future

Never really jump out of gear..although I sometimes find it hard to find 2nd from 1st in racing model

use clutch for doen and not for up..

thanks for ur help

Could be a bent dog or selector fork... easy if you hammer the gears too much
