I have a pair of 2L camshafts from a 1999 Mondeo. Can I swap these with my 1.8 silvertop Zetec, and if I did what advantages in power etc. can I
expect. (Fisher Fury 1.8 Zetec on twin 40 DCOE Webers standard EDIS ingnition.)
Cheers

might get 15bhp. should fit no problems.
If they both silvertops then yes, I did that... expect about 10bhp extra.

Yes, the blacktop cams are slightly more radical, they dont have sich a gentle slope to lift the follwers, if you use blacktop cams in a silvertop expect faster follower wear, especially if you hammer it.
Thanks for the responses but does it make any difference if the 2l camshafts work on solid tappets will it still work on the hydraulic tappets in the
1.8

around 10bhp silvertop to silvertop make sure you fit the right cam to eacjh ie inleyt and exhaust they can be differentiated by the inlet having
another lobe for the cam sensor.
Definitely worth it and a cheap upgrade
Thanks all
The cams are from a blacktop so will be no good for my 1.8 silvertop.
ive got a spare set of 130 silvertop cams you can have for £25 +postage, what is your current set up, 115 cams, ecu/bike carbs? as may need other adjustments to get most them
