Ford formally announced on December 9th that they will sell EcoBoost engines in a "plug & play" crate configuration.
Can anyone supply actual physical dimensions, availability and cost for a 1.6 EcoBoost & six speed manual?
Info on 4 cylinder engines is still hard to get here in the home of big V8s!
Thanks
Chet
hi there. this engine is a cracker.. but then i work for fords so i would say that. at the minute we cant keep up. building about 2500 per day. the
ecoboost motor is the same size as a sigma motor.

I can mesure my sigma if you like?
Simon posted some info on my dup thread -
While helpful it doesn't cover the questions I have

Click on Press Release, and at the bottom it says this:
Contact Ford Racing Performance Parts for more information:
800-FORD-788 (1-800-367-3788) or visit http://www.fordracingparts.com
(I know the feature is for the 2l version and I can't find anything on the website, but the phone may be useful in this case)

Can anyone share the cost and availability of a 1.6 EcoBoost engine and six speed manual?
Thanks
Chet
Ford are putting a 2L version of this in Falcons in Australia.
Front engine rear wheel drive donors will be available in a few months.
Won't be cheap though, as second hand parts are expensive in Aus.
When the americans start fitting these, then cheap donor engines and boxes will be plentiful.
Cheers,
Nev.
Can anyone confirm that the new six speed manual has the same external dimensions / mounts as the Sigma / Zetec SE 5 speed?
Thanks
Chet
