Just starting to organise putting a Zetec into my Stylus due to IVA issues.
One of the hurdles to overcome is the sump on the Zetec engines. How far do they actually protrude down? I'm not running the car stupidly low to
the ground. I'm at approx. 220mm to the bottom of the front chassis member. Do I really need to cut the sump down?!
Thanks
your sump sits 220mm below the chassis?
no, that's the distance from the floor to the bottom of my chassis rail.
Depends on what Zetec you are running -
The silver top (one part sump) 1.8l is shallower (more ground clearance) than the 2.0l and is a straight bolt on (remembering to get the pick up pipe)
and IIRC the CVH sump is also a fit but others will confirm no doubt.
Not sure about blacktops as they have 2 part sumps IIRC.
It is a 1.8 silvertop. The sump that I have currently available for it is a aluminium version...
Send it to dunnell or scholar, they will shorten it and the pick up pipe, no more worries.

Dunnell etc charge a small fortune for doing the sumps!
Have now found a solution to getting it shortened for a few beers tokens if required
I'm glad you got the sump sorted out, just remember to shorten the pick up and weld baffles in as well, I've got to say that the
measurement of 220mm to the underside of the chassis rail is massive, are you going to off road😆
My stylus is set at 125mm and that isn't considered that low.

may well be 120mm then :s
