Zetec inlet insulation plate
ttalps2000 - 2/10/17 at 01:52 PM

Do I need to use the plastic insulation plate on the inlet manifold on the Zetec? I have one, but need new gaskets, which appear to be a fortune unless I buy a complete top-end gasket set!

I have used the DanST Engineering gaskets in the past and he does a thick version of the inlet gasket which states that I shouldn't need to use the plastic spacer?!

Thanks

You shouldn't need it unless theres any air/vacuum chanels behind it. You will have to get shorter bolts though or shorten them.
I assume your using the standard plastic inlet.

I thought you only used the zetec inlet plate if you are going injection a webber manifold would bolt straight to head you could use one of Danst gaskets

I have a danst manifold and thicker gasket bolted straight to the head.
