
Is this site correct for the clutch part no etc?
Im going 1.8 zetec to type 9. Any help muchly appreciated.
When I put mine together I used a Pinto clutch. You are better with a lightened flywheel and if you buy these from Burton, Raceline, Scholar etc they
will lighten it and sort it to accept the the pinto clutch.
You will need the spigot bearing as mentioned and a started motor off of a CVH engine (although I think there are a few that work, but not a
pinto).
I replaced the flywheel bolts (just went to the local dealer).

I dont really want to go for a lightened flywheel as my budget is very limited at the minute as in im bleeping skint. So the cheapest reliable option is preffered.
urm, not sure as I went the lightened route. I bought mine from Scholar for £95 exchange so thought that not too bad as I wouldn't want to take
it all apart again at a later stage just to change it.

I've used a standard 1.8 flywheel with a
Mondeo 1.8 clutch plate 220x25.4x23 Q’Hazel part number C1189AF
and
clutch release bearing Q’Hazel CCT 133.
I got the spigot bearing from Quantum Cars so I'm not sure of the ford part number.
Again the Starter was off a CVH Sierra but the sump was a modified alloy one to make room for it.
It's all built up at the moment waiting to be started and looks ok

If you have a 1.8 engine and it isn't the 130PS one then you should have a lighter flywheel anyway. Still not as light as a lightened one but its
fine for most people.
Spiggot bearing from Ford is part num 1596468.
I used a Sierra 1.8 CVH friction plate and kept the pressure plate supplied with the engine.

MIne is a 1.8 mondeo flywheel. These are the same as escort IIRC. Ill get a mondeo clutch and see what happens.

Make sure its early mondeo though (220mm) i think later ones after 97/98 are bigger.
Make sure it has the 1" 23 spline center in the plate as many are smaller.
Ill have a look at my old clutch and see what its like. Ill get a match for that if it fits.
Does the realease bearing need a spacer?

same here escort 1.8 flywheel, 1.6 / 1.8 Mondeo cover and plate, capri 1.3? release bearing CCT133 and pinto spigot from Ford.
Over 2000 miles on and no problems yet.
nope, the capri release bearing is about 10mm or so longer than the sierra one that was attached to my type 9 when I got it. I just fitted the capri
one no extra spacer needed.

Excellent id better go shopping. Looking to get it all poperly fitted and wired up over the new couple of weeks. Hopefully even running.
