Wheres the best place to get an engine steam cleaned?
I had an oil leak on my tin top and fixed it (i hope) by replacing the old rocker cover rubber seal, which is where it seemed to be coming from. But
there is oil everywhere and to check to see if it has stopped leaking i need to clean the engine. As it is only a little 106 rallye the engine has
been shoehorned into the bonnet and there is next to no space to get to the engine so cleaning it by hand its out of the question really.
What sort of places do a steam cleaning service?
What about pressure washing an engine or should i avoid do to damaging seals and/or electrics.
Thanks
That assumes that you don't already have a hose pipe ban operating in your area. !

Before you do clean it spray a load of wd40 over electrical connections or put a bit of grease on em just to try and keep out most the water.
A mate of mine had some grief after having engine bay steam cleaned. Id recommend spending some time covering electrical in plastic after spraying
with water repellant. the gunk / Jizer method sounds the way to go at first. Its only the bits that are caked up that might not come clean without
pressure.
If you have a pressure washer you should be able to carefully clean specific areas with it. Personally i wouldnt trust someone else to clean it just
in case - at least you will be more careful and have more of an idea where the sensitive bits are.
Balls to the hose pipe ban, get a green fly sprayer (or even a kids supersoaker) to squirt the gunk off.
You could even apply it using the sprayer if you buy the non-aerosol variety which is much better value.
