
Quick q re a theory I have.
I'm tubo'ing my R V8 and have a massive(?) lack of space. I'm gonna use a couple of R5 GT intercoolers.
Is there a reason why I can't have my inlet airflow through the intercooler matrix. As revs increase, so will airflow etc etc.

i'm no thermodynamicist, but surely that can't work.
the incoming air will be heated by the compressed air, which in turn will be heated by the compressor, and get hotter still, which will heat the next
charge more, which..................
something'll end up melting!

Ive changed this again having propperly read your post.
Its not a good idea to draw the inlet air through the matrix of the intercooler. If you do this any heat you remove from the compressed gas is
transfered to the intake charge heating it up before it is further heated when compressed. The effect the intercooler has will be near 0 as the energy
is just being transfered round a closed loop. It would probably work less well than having no intercooler due to losses of the flow through the
cooler.
If your tight for space you may want to consider a charge cooler (water / air heat exchanger) but this may require an increase in radiator size, or
use a seperate water / air system with a more conveniently mounted radiator.
