I want to use the type 9 5-speed box with my xflow, and believe I need to match a box that has come off a 1600 pinto. I have bought a box from a breakers but want to know how to tell a box from a 1600 apart from one off a 2 litre.

I think you will find the bellhousings are the same for all pintos no matter what the capacity......

what about gear ratios etc. Are these going to be the same as well?

i would have thought so, they usualy just changed the dif ratios, unless you find a sport model and then you might have closer ratios...
