4AGE question
Hi guys.
I am thinking about buying a front end from a toyota
It's got a 4AGE 20V blacktop with an Automatic box.
My question is.... will i face any problems with fitting a manual box like wiring issues or running problems because it's looking for signals
from the auto?
Any help would be great.
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve and welcome. Most of us have probably gone with Omex (or other) for sparks and a replacement wiring harness. These are available from Raw
Striker 01432 371169 . In fact they have lots of kit to do what you are thinking of doing, and they are good types too. Good luck

You may be able to fool the ECU with a dummy signal. Post a question on the following forums for more answers.

One thing you will miss being an automatic is the flywheel which is the lightest flywheel Toyota did on the 4AGE. Very hard to find but just about any
other 4AGE flywheel will do though later engines have a bigger clutch diameter. You'll also need a spigot bearing to go in the end of the crank,
RAW can supply you this.
If you are buying a front cut stick with the standard ECU otherwise you'll be paying for bits you might not use such as the wiring loom with an
OMEX for example. Make sure the oil solenoid is on the engine, its at the top of the cylinder head by the left exhaust primary. They are saught after
and often go missing (actually I could do with a another). This controls the VVC mechanism on the inlet cam.

I've got a 4AGE 20v (ST) flywheel in the garage if you want it.

Suspect postage to Australia might be a bit expensive?
