Scots gaelic is slightly different from Irish, but if she spoke the old-language, then she would know exactly what it meant!

"thank you - good health to you!"

I have my official translator here, and she says she is not that old....

Alledgedly, Thank you in Irish Gaelic is "Go raibh maith agat"

Gaelic, that makes Spanish look easy

That'll be the Christian equivalent to Yule, you're a festival out

I didn't say SHE was old!

My Scots interpretation of "go raibh maith agat" is "a thousand thanks to you", but I won't argue with your ma (she's Irish and I'm not!).

I do know that Caed Mile Failte roughly translates to "100,000 welcomes" - we have it in the hall

I know you didn't say she was old, I did, and got a clip round the ear for it

Christmas = Yule, the pagan mid-winter festival.
Easter = Eostre, the pagan springtime festival.

Not quite sure which religion we're worshiping here...
