Just built a sledge!

All the shops had sold out so had a rummage round in the shed in my lunch break and 40 mins later have a working sledge!

Not sure how long the upvc runners will last, and the kids might get a couple of splinters but it goes well!

Hope there's some snow left tomorrow for them to enjoy it.

Hampsted Heath here we come!

Sister-in-law is an A&E doctor. She's been complaining about the massive number of sledging injuries she's getting through the doors this week with most of the schools being closed.

Be careful out there.

if you want locost, use a bin liner - you SHIFT on them!

We used to always use them, until the local hill had some dare devils build jumps half way down - doing on a sledge might have been funny, but I had 0.2mm of bin liner protecting my ass

hehe - good times!

It'll corner if you dig your heel in or a toe end if you're laid down, I wish I was still fit enough to go sledging

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

few years ago me and a mate did a couple of mile single track road in the Austrian alps on a traditional sledge. The side of the road was about a 70 degree drop with trees. Unfortunately my muppet of a mate didn't listen to the advice on how to corner - imagine, first corner both of us trying to turn the sledge - one turning left, one turning right & both shouting at each other.

We got literally to the edge and just stopped. Brief argument and we where off again with me steering and having a great laugh.
