He implied he was the Stig - Yes, really!

100% certain it was very tongue in cheek - anyway we all know who the Stig is don't we???

Real Stig?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

According to my missus he sat there bold as brass and went into a bit of detail of how he is in fact the Stig. She's convinced. I'm convinced they are having a laugh given all the recent news stories.

They're really making the most of the Stig thing....

Given that the BBC is having a court case, trying to prevent the publication of a book which says who the Stig is, and has managed so far to have the case heard in private, I don't think they'd let the Stig come out and just do it...

The whole thing's a bit of a farce in any case, as apparently there's more than one Stig (not including Perry McCarthy, the "black" Stig), which is presumably the reason they want to keep his identity quiet - it would spoil one of the main bits of the show if people knew it...

Im assuming the book is a biography not an autobiography, as surely even with good booksales, his job at top gear is worth more than getting a book published.

PMSL

BTW, who really gives a toss who the Stig is? I know I don't, why don't they just have someone drive the cars round the track without all the showmanship?

I get a bit tired of Clarkie's comments just before the Stig bit "some say.......". It's getting rather old now (a bit like me really )

Sorry for being a grumpy old git.

The books being published by someone else, it has nothing to do with the TG team apart from the fact that they're trying to prevent it being published.

Personally I don't care who the Stig is. It's a joke, same as the rest of the program.

He has a new TV programme:
quote:
This sort of brings me to my forthcoming television series, which is based in a place we call the Man Lab.
In reality, it’s an old warehouse in south London, but conceptually it’s a mythical place in the mind where men practise and relearn the arts lost to them.
That means everything, really, from minstrelsy to techniques for welding stainless steel sheet, via duelling, concrete mixing, navigation
and the correct depth of countersink for an 80mm wood screw, but also embracing some basic cooking, boot polishing and hospital corners.

I agree. Actually I'm not ashamed to say that:

1. I like Top Gear (and I watch re-runs on Dave)

2. I'm quite enjoying the current F1 season!

Discuss!

Not really bothered who the Stig is all that said - I would assume there are many. I can't see that Ferrari turn up with an Enzo and let anyone other than their test driver take it round. I'm sure it's the same for others.

I was meaning the Stig, is he trying to publish it, or is it an unofficial or official biography by someone else?

well, it's all done and dusted now, and the Stig is Ben Collins, whose name has been knocking about as the Stig for about the last 5 years....
