Rocker Cover Gaskets

Just got my rocker cover back from the powder-coaters... the gasket that came off it looks fine and there was no leak before removal.

Would you change it, or just re-use the old one?

Cheers Perksy... mod done!

Need to get a cambelt kit next... I see there are two choices - old and new. Anyone know what to look for to decide which I have?

The Early ones (pre 93) had 'Round' teeth and the Later ones (post 93) had 'Square' Teeth

Fit a complete Timing belt kit

Check the Water pump whilst your doing the job and replace if required

There's loads of info' on SBD's Website aswell which is well worth a read

I recently heard of a guy who powder coated his rocker cover and when it was blasted it was grit blasted not bead blasted, The grit impregnated the aluminium and despite washing it until it was completly clean and the water coming out of it was clear when he put it back on started the engine and the rocker cover got warm all the grit fell out and ruined his engine! Not sure if that will effect you or not but I thought it may be worth mentioning!
