xflow and weber help
I have recently aquired a 1600 crossflow (ax block) that has been bored out to 1700, apparently it has 1300 pistons in to raise the compression ratio.
It has a formula ford head which has been ported and polished. I have also recently bought a set of twin 40 webers. My question is what jets should I
run for this setup. Any suggestions would be great.

You won't have a Formula Ford head. polishing and porting was not allowed by the regs. That's does not mean its a problem of course. For
jetting its difficult to say without knowing the exact build spec i.e. valve sizes, compression ratio, cam, etc, even then a rolling road set up would
be essential to get it right. Rather than buyng expensive parts I wpould suggest you take it to an RR in the first instance. You should then get years
of happy motoring.

60 idle jet
130 main jet
runs ok... till get it set up properly..
4 x 425cc = 1700
a 400cc engine needs a 127 jet ... so cant be far off ..lol
--------------------------------------------------------------------
When I had a Crossflow I had my Dellortos sorted by our local carb expert
His set up was
Chokes 30mm
Mains 135
Idles 58
Airs 200
Pumps 40
Emulsions 7772.11
That was on a 1.6, ported head and a Burton A2 cam.
Hope that's of some use
The carbs have the 5 progression holes and fitted is:-
32mm Chokes
150 Main
7772.10 Emulsion tubes
58 Idle(we think)
7481.3 Butterfly
How would the car run on these?
The idle jets need to be bigger, at least 60, maybe 62 or so.
My notes, gleaned off the net show that for a fast road cam, 2L pinto your existing jetting can't be too far off.
32mm chokes
148 main jets,
58 idle jets,
tubes 7772.11,
air correctors 210
