Water temp sender resistance

Hope some one can help, I need to know the resistance of the water temp sender at cold, and if you have a chance at hot.

The sender that I have has about 3000 ohm resistance, but the meter seems to need about 300 (cold) to 30 (hot), so I have no idea as to which is correct.

thanks in advance,..

The resistance range you estimate that the meter needs is correct. Put the sensor in freshly boiled water and it should read about 70 ohms. If not then the sensor is duff.
