gsxr 750 clutch probs
got a gsxr 750 wp 1993
all is fitted starts runs stops everything
just 1 major prob!
the clutch wont clear to select any gears!
removed the clutch measured it (all seems ok)
but fitted a new ebc kevlar clutch and springs just in case
but still the stupid thing wont select gears when running!
selects when not running
but start her up and just crunches and stalls,
no matter how much i adjust the clutch arm,
also the metal drive plates are (or look)like new, thickness ok, not warped no blueing,
any ideas ?
even old skool suzuki havent answered !
cheers paul

have you had the gear linkage off?, seem to remember from way back something about it causing problems if put back on wrong(upside down?).

the R1 clutch lever is like a mini rack and pinion. If the lever is engaged in the wrong position it can do one of a couple of things:
It can jam so that it doesn't turn
It can run out out travel before the clutch is fully disengaged.
To help you assemble it there is a mark on the lever and one on the case. You have to line them up.
If there are no marks on your clutch, look at a Haynes manual and see what that says.

HI,
there is pressure on the clutch lever,
it feels like clutch travel,
i have the right amount of both plates in.
the clucth unit has a set up (or sounds like an r1) i.e rack and pinion.
looked in the idiots guide and it dosent tell you any right or wrong way to do it!
And now to make matters worse ive just smashed a bolt hole (lug)from the middle of the clutch basket! (temper temper)
so now need more parts
never mind !
