Latest Castle Combe video
I have just put a video of the latest track day at Castle Combe.
Castle Combe vid
Another great day with a few spins and only one red flag when a Merc hit the tyre wall.
It was the first run with the Quill can which I was hoping would get through the noise test. It dropped the noise level by 6 Db but at 109 it was
still to loud so out came the decibel killer again. The 928 owners club who organised the event are planning to run some more next year possibly at
Goodwood as well as Combe. There will possibly be extra places available so I will post details when I get them.

All you need now is a wing and some slicks and you can come along and compete in the Castle Combe Special GT championship.
No problem with noise then as the max is 108dB!

Cheers mate. I put a few more degrees of wing on this time which helped in the corners. you just need to get that gear change mechanism sorted

Looking forward to seeing it at home tonight. Should be up for a few CC days next year too. If I'm there, we'll have to get some pics of
the two Gulf cars!

Sounds like a good idea to me. i will look forward to seeing the car.
Hopefully by next year I will have solved the noise problem and be able to unleash all those horses as at the moment it feels like Im dragging a horse
behind me at anything over 8,000 rpm.

What's the story with the db killer.
What are you at without it and with it?
Any negative effects?
Apart from that, car looks really nice and aint slow!

The quill can measured in at 109db which was 6 db lower than my standard straight through silencer. I had to add the decibel killer and a stainless
steel scouring pad to bring it down to 100. The scouring pad fell out after the noise test
The effect of the decibel killer is quite significant on power above 8k (a lot of noise and not much acceleration) which is why i was changing gear
well before the red line.
