zetec turbo information
Just to let you all know, the engine in a st170 focus is actually a blacktop zetec. I had a look at one yesterday and to my surprise its a zetec with
a cam cover that says duratec on it, So its so easy to put a turbo engine in, if you can get hold of one.

I'd heard this too, but doesnt it share the same engine code "l4" as the duratec???

Ahem - the stock ST170 zetec isn't a turbo engine.
However, the Focus RS is - and this *was* based on the blacktop

I have an ST170 engine that does say Duratec on the top, however its a blacktop engine with VVT, steel rods and cast pistons, bigger valves and bigger
ports than a standard zetec.
The later RST Focus is the same engine with a turbo and low compression pistons.
I wil be putting this in my MNR as a direct replacement for the current silver top zetec.

Is there any benefit in getting an ST170 engine if you are thinking of turbo charging??
