Any musicians, please sign this petition
The V & A are intending to place in long-term storage its collection of historic musical instruments, which is unparalleled in the UK. The reason
for this destruction, given by a V & A spokesman, is so that "the gallery can be redesigned to show the fashion collections." Musical
instruments have been part of the collection since its inception in 1851: the museum has received adverse comment on this plan from curators
worldwide. The removal is to take place in Spring 2010, and is a short-term decision which will have long-term negative results for scholars and music
lovers alike.

They want to show skinny little things in stupid clothes that no-one would wear without being paid for it over, well I'd rather see a battered
saxophone...

Thanks for the link fozzie i couldnt find anything else on it.
My freind sent me the link, she's is pretty upset about it.
Apparently, they use the instruments in a concert yearly. Its not very often you get to hear 500+ year onld harpsichords and the like being played
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

My uncle has worked for the V&A restoring the earliest and believed first ever guitar. He lives in Greenwich now I believe and makes and restores
lutes!
There's a bit of useless info for you
