cd player noises

cruising along to a bit of deep purple when suddenly a lot of interference spoilt
the moment.
sounds like a weak signal on AM radio with a regular wooshing noise.
changed cd to led zeppelin and it was the same, radio is unaffected.
is it goodnight Vienna for the player (oe ford fit) or a simple fix?

Try sticking a lens cleaner in it John, somebody might have one handy.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Beat me to it - maybe one of those CD-player cleaner jobbies might sort it out (worth a try).

if it was a dirty lens, it's more likely to skip or not play isn't it?
i think possibly more likely the player has had it myself

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Headunits are fairly cheap and easy to replace, may as well just change it!
