Which Fuel cap will fit this ?
When I bought the MK last year it was missing a Fuel cap. The previous owner lost it after filling up. I have fitted one of those temporary jobs,
but it is a right pain to get off..
Can anyone ID what cap would fit this please. Seems like a "bayonet" fitting. I guess eXay is as good a place as any to source one -
aint fussed if it locks - probably best if not.
Cheers

Looks very BMCish, and identical to my old MGB, so MG B Midget, austin morris 1100 1300 etc......

Halfords do, or did, a range of replacement caps.
I got one for £12.99 and made an ally surround for it on the lathe.

take it to halfords or your local accesory shop then you can try before you buy.
you need new rubber tube too.
looks like mk2 escort or possibly tr7
stuck in bed at mo so cant check but it looks familiar so could be one of those
Ray
ps halfords only do one bayonet one these days unless they have old stock

That filler pipe looks in poor condition. Replace the rubber and splash out on a complete new filler and stop being so tight.

Not being tight - Just being "locost" To be honest, wasnt aware it was that bad, close up pictures do show a multitude of sins
Where do I find a whole new assembly then ?

Looks similar to my mk2 escort fuel cap (not sure where it is - i kept it without cutting off the fitting from the tank. If i find it i'll let
you know so you can try it.
(but won't be in the garage for a week or so).

Take the filler neck with you and get a new hose to go with the new cap, that one has about had it, looks like the former owner cut the outer casing
of the hose to help reduce it in size, dangerous IMHO.
