diff oil seal replacement and what oil
hi
after taking half shafts of my sierra diff, i noticed a bit of oil on side.
i have decided to replace seals on side so ordered them but am unsure how they fit. do they just prise out and new one go in or is there something
else to do.
also what oil goes in diff? i decided to empty old oil out but it doesnt say what to replace it with in haynes manual. oops!
any help appreciated

Prise the old seals out carefully with a large flat screwdriver then smear a little grease round the outside of the new ones and knock them in gently
and squarley - use a small block of wood as a drift to help keep them square.
A little smear of grease around the lips of the seal and shove the shafts back in.
Oil is (I think EP90) combined diff/gearbox oil these days.

Ages ago I bought a proper Seal Puller Tool (£5.74 from Machine Mart p/no 040210267) and only used it this weekend on the cam-box oil seals.
Talk about a doddle - can't think why I bashed away with screwdrivers etc. for years. Hook it in, lean on it, out pops the seal - takes more
time to describe it!
Worth the money? - deffo.
Cheers, Pewe

Looking at the tool Pewe recomends, for £6 I might get one myself.
