Buying cable by the meter?
Does anyone happen to know if "trade" places such as city electrical factors sells normal cable by the meter?
I need 6 meters of 6mm and dont really want a complete roll......... I know I can get that from wickes and the like, but its not cheap!

Yep, my local TLC does no problem and only charge me at teh 50 or 100m rate

Don't know if you've got a TLC suppliers by you, we have one and they are pretty reasonable prices. Might be of some use?

I've been in a few wholesale type places and not been able to in the past. This place is pretty great and sells by the meter reasonably cheap,
but you'd have postage on top...

Alternatively you might be lucky if you see a sparky about in his van. Might flog you a bit off a reel, or even give you it if they work for a firm
and didn't pay for it

There's a supplier you may not have heard of, called TLC. If they've got a branch near you I'd head there, they do sell by the metre
I've always found them to be cheaper than CEF and any of the other suppliers around my way as well.

I had actually ordered all my cable etc from QVS-direct on Monday expecting it all to be here today... but they phoned and said it wont be here till
end of next week as they dont have some of the items..
Thats not much use as I need to get 1st fix in this weekend so the plasterer can do his jiz on monday... :-(
Dont have a TLC in Plymouth... will have to drive around in the morning and see what I can find... I guess if you need things in a hurry you pay the
price ...

My local Maplins sells all sorts of cable by the meter.
