Pro painters mixing metalics?
I have brought some single stage metalic pearl from ebay that is ment to be thinned 2:1 with 2k thinners. The colour is far too dark for my liking but
has a nice bright blue pearl to it in bright light. Would it lift the base colour from very dark blue simular to Oxford to some like Ford RS blue by
adding a lighter metalic blue to it or even some silver?
Maybe 2:1 or even 1:1 ratio.

might have an effect on the pearl though, but i guess you could, then try spraying a peice of scrap metal? see if you still like it

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Find out the original mix and add whichever tinter looks like it will lighten it. Get the tech to measure it in so you can make the mix repeatable.
DON'T add any alien tinters, it will just kill the colour, more pearl additive may do the trick - keeping the cleanness of the colour but
decreasing the dark hue.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Thanks for that I'll ask the guy at my local trade counter if he can add some more colour and pearl with out the binders. I'm not looking
to make more of the same paint just use the 2ltrs I already have.

The ratio of binder to tinter may be important, check first!
