If it has a ballasted coil you may be running it at 12v, in which case it will rapidly overheat & die, leave it for an hour & it will
magically recover. Alternatively could be fuel starvation as already suggested.
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Yeah I@d have gone with fuel starvation first (especially if it dies over a few seconds), coil second (if it cuts out pretty abruptly).

If its got the FoMoCo distributor (black distributor cap) it could be the points collapsing due to a lack of reinforcing strip on the plastic strip
leading to/supporting the plastic heel the is in contact with the cam lobe in the distributor.
If its electronic (bosch - brown cap) it could be the ignition module breaking down.
Other than that, as previous post have said.
