building a downhill cartie
Our village is having a down hill cartie race on Monday. I wasn't going to be there but it turns out that I am now and I was thinking of
knocking up an entry but I only have tomorrow to do it.
I have a bit of tubing and a welder and I think I can get hold of a couple of kiddies bikes.
Anyone got design ideas?

Whats wrong with acouple of bits of 4x2 , a set of wheels ,a bolt and abit of string?

with only a day its got to be easiest to build you kart around the forks and swingarm arrangement of the push bike?
Chopped off and welded, two forks on the front, two swingarm on the back, small space to seat - legs between the two sets of front front forks, and
then some thin plywood to skin it?
Not sure on the steering arrangment - but keeping the forks/steering tube make this easier

I would pay money to see mooky in a "soap box cart" careering down a hill 
Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to
blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

a tricycle arrangement using the two rear frames as is, and welding new side rails to the original steering column. then a plank between the rear
wheels, pegs for the feet and rope to the old handle bars,.. and pray!!!
looking forward to the photographs,....

Yup. Shure did.
In those days many a mother came out of the corner shop to find her pram up on bricks.
BTW, as a "go faster dodge" did you wash out the grease from the bearings and replace it with butter?

We were so poor we couldn't afford butter, let alone something to wash grease out with.
