Fitting a CAT for IVA?

Hi all,

Sorry if this question has been asked before (probably many times before).

I have a locost with a 1996 1.8 MX5 engine (BP engine).

Do I need to fit a CAT for IVA?

Any help would be most apreciated (think I have googled it 1000 times or more)

Cheers.

Any engine produced post Sept 1995 (and any engine without proof that it pre-dates that) has to go through the tougher BETS emision test at IVA... and so needs a cat'.

Thanks for clearing that up, got a CAT ready to go on, was just hoping to get away without one.

On another engine related note, the mazda engine is running really rough - not firing on no.4, spark is good on all, running rich on 1 2 & 3, all getting fuel, injectors cleaned and tested. Could the timing be really out or the cam sensor be knackered?

Hopefully get the laptop plugged into it soon and see if there is anything sensor related or any fault codes logged.

Thanks for all the help.

Cheers.
