Zetec Igintion
I plan to use an ESC out of an old ford. as one of my mate had done this - any one got detailis on how to power the loom. As far as I can see I have
three wires do the og to +12, GND & tacho.
DO I need the oilpress connection?
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

This may be of use mate.
Follow the pin numbers.
1 - Blue/Green - CPS
2 - Blue/Yellow - CPS
3 - Brown/Yellow - Air temp
4 - Brown - Ground for temp sensors
5 - Brown/Green - Engine temp
6 - loops to 7
7 - as above
8 - Black - Live
9 - Brown - Chassis ground
10 - no connection
11 - Green/Red - Coil (cylinders 1 & 4)
12 - Green/Yellow - Coil (cylinders 2 & 3)
The unit sinks current for the coil, so supply it with 12v. Other than that it should be fairly self explanatory. All the standard Zetec sensors will
work, just make sure the CPS is the one that goes with your flywheel (ie 1.8 flywheel use 1.8 CPS, 2.0 flywheel use 2.0 CPS etc)

Dan, I understood that the only difference on the Vr sensor was between manual and auto. And its the little housing that is different not the actual
sensor.
Would be interested to know if what you say is fact?
My understanding of the Esc unit is that it will get you up and running but give very poor performance.

OK thanks but it still not clear
I have the black wire connected to +12v and the brown connected to earth. There a small black box with a green/red and a green wire coming out of it.
IS this the Recifier for the Taco as cgreen goes to taco.
There's a wire (black) that has a coil connector on it. Does this go to the coil. If so what side. If I connect it to neg and connect pos on
the coil to +12v this cause my fuel pump run. Bypassing the imobiliser. Might need to rewire the fuel pump
What do I do with the HT lead from the coil?
There's no place on the Dizzy thing to plug it.
How does the dizzy get the HT from the Coil?

There is no dizzy on this engine, it is a coilpack and needs to be connected to 12v plus and two leads from the module to give the spark signals.thge
coil type connector is used on a lot of fords as a general connector in the ignition circuit.

OK so chuck the Coil as it has a coil pack.
connect the middle wire to coil pack (black) to +12v and the gn/rd & gn/ye get a sqaurewave from the MAP which is phase shifted and controled from
the CPS. using temp and air temp to compensate.
THe white box on the side of the coil looks like pickup I guess this is the take off for the taco by induced voltage into the embeded coil.
There a small back box with two wires (One gn/rd) similar to the white on on the side of the coil pack. Where do I put this, this is currently mounted
next to the Map on the bulkhead but looks like it might be a pickup.
I'll do a diagram one I get this working so others can reference it.

Watch with Zetec Engines - Found out the hard way that the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) mounting is different between Auto and manual.
Worse to change it it's engine out and remove flywheel to get at 1x M8 bolt.
