Post '95 Zetec Engines??
Hi all, I've decided I want to use a 2.0l Zetec for the beast, and pre 95 is more desirable for emissions, but does it really matter? If I get a
more modern engine does it just mean I have to have a cat? Come on people tell me the score!!
Regards,
Matt

Every engine made after August 1995 must have a cat fitted for SVA.
Get a pre 95 one to build and then you can drop a newer one when you feel like it/blow it up!!

Not only would you need a cat but you are a lot less likely to pass sva emissions with carbs. (Read this as no hope)
If you are going to use injection, don’t worry about it.
