Grilled Phoenix

I hope you all had a very happy Easter. The weather has been fantastic which encouraged me to get the car out of the workshop. Once the car is out in the open you get quite a different perspective of it being able to stand back and see the overall effect.

All the grilles are now in place although I have a feeling that eventually I shall ditch the bought platic side vents and make my own. I was feeling lazy when I bought them and though them an easy way to get the vents and repeaters all in one.

The main job left to do is to make inner wings to prevent muck off the wheels showering the engine compartment. I'm planning on going for the Frogeye Sprite design which look a bit like trailer mudguards but they do the job.

Before SVA, I'm going to hire the Haynes test circuit for half a day to bed the brakes in and get everything used to working and loosened up. Anyone care to join me? I believe there is a discount for numbers.

John

Car is looking realy good
I would be interested in driving the Haynes test circuit. Do they have any noise restrictions?
If you need a few more to make up the numbers there are a few guys locally who may be interested.

John,

Looks good.

Fisher make inner wheel wells for the Fury. Also fit Pheonix etc.

Now the sale is finalised they should be up and running again pretty quickly (no learning curve thankfully as they're ex-Fisher anyway).

failing that you can borrow mine to take moulds from if you're passing...

That's a very pretty car John, but from you I would expect nothing less.

Thank you all very much for your encouragement and for the things you have said about the car. I hope the SVA man feels the same!!!

U2Us sent to wheezy and stevebubs, thanks to both of you.

I've been missing the metal shaping so the inner wings are a good excuse to dust off the English Wheel and the shrinking machine not to mention the oxy-acetylene bottles. The kind of thing I was hoping to achieve is on the photo that I shall attempt to attach. Anyway, will keep you posted with my efforts.

Best wishes to you all

John
