Suprised no one's mentioned this already...
Bit of a roller coaster ride at McLaren this week, first they admit that they may actually have been sneaky cheating bastids all along, and then they
sign Kovalainen. Should be a good year for them next year with those two, as long as the car isn't too pap after it's hasty
'redesign'.
Funny how people are usually up in arms the second Max opens his gob, but it all goes quiet when it turns out he may have had a point (for once)

Having read the full FIA report it seemed damming and water tight BUT after sleeping on it I am no longer so convinced I think some kind of very
dirty deal was done. It will only be after Max dies we find out what really happened.

Linky to the report??????
I was disappointed to hear this this morning on the news. Could it be and "admit it" or we will find something on the car to ban you next
year.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

I think it's more likely a case of "We found something, now apologize or you are not racing next year"

Good analysis britishtrident. After all EVERYONE in motorsport has been bending the rules, creatively interpreting them, call it what you will since
time immemorial.Hells bells anyone remember the Brabham fan car? Who was the team principal behind that?

Unfortunately I think there may be a big scalp to go at Mclaren yet, and although I've never really like Ron, I think he will be missed if he is
forced out.

He's always stuck me as an out and out professional who lives and breathes his job. For me that (being the spirit of) Mclaren makes them My No1
in F1.
It'd be bad to lose any of the top 4 (for me McLaren, Williams, Renault or ferrari) from the sport.
We'll just have to wait and see I supose.
One thing though??????
If they did find something then is an admission of guilt all that it takes to make it all OK in Max's eyes. I see they've said
they'd stop developing in 3 areas that are possibly ferrari related. But to me at least it still looks like an apology so that the FIA can say
WE Were Right all along.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

My view is that you are seeing that this wasn't a witch hunt against McLaren, but a even handed approach to a very serious breach of the
regulation. McLaren have already been punished for the crime, now the FIA are just ensuring they don't benefit from their crime.
I think the FIA have got round the table with McLaren and hammered out this agreement so that McLaren can take to the grid next year, so by
apologizing to the FIA etc and not developing 3 area of their car, the FIA will let the matter rest.
Seems a fair outcome to me. I've just read some of the FIA report, and it is pretty damning, the use of Ferrari IP seems to have been quite
widespread.
