Nosecones

Are all nosecones a similar height? I've seen loads of details of width and girth, but none about the height above the chassis rails.

Anybody know which is the highest, standard, 24" wide, nosecone excluding the Tiger ones with bulges.

Anybody know the height of the Luego nosecone, it looks taller?

Yes you've guessed - I've a tall engine that came with the donor and I want to get past SVA with, preferably without a bulge in the nosecone & bonnet.

most nosecones are 'book', mk indy's chassis is 1" taller with standard bodywork, luego velocity is book frame with 2" taller bodywork, probably best option for a tall engine IMHO...

Ned, Thanks for the reply.

I spoke with Luego this afternoon, they told me that the scuttle is approx. 280mm high above the chassis rails and the nosecone is 255mm above the chassis rails.

I'll try my drawings with the Luego nosecone height and play around with my own height for the scuttle - with minimal ground clearance under the sump.

Anybody an idea of a reasonable minimum sump to ground clearance - 4 inches??

Mines about that...

Sump is not much lower than the bottom chassis rails, which is about 4 inches.

Over the speed bumps in my village i miss them by less than an inch.

I have a nosecone which is 2" taller and 4" wider. I have taken a mold from it and will be casting at least 1 from it as a spare for myself but if it will fit your chassis we could probably sort out something.
