Thread sizes?

Hi all,

I placed my engine in today (893 Fireblade engine) and found that I need some more bolts (again). I don't know what size thread I need.

can anyone help with the thread size of the engine mounting bolt shown in the picture?

Thanks
Mark.

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

Thats what I thought, but I had a couple of bolts which I thought were M10 fine but they only screwed in about 2 or 3 turns before they locked up.

They are usually M10 x 1.25 pitch.

the M10 is normaly a 1.5mm pitch and are available anywhere. The M10x1.25 is a nightmare to get hold of in small numbers. If you are stuck for one let me know and I'll launch one out for you if Ive got one.

Very kind of you Jason, thanks.

I have a place near me called 'Nuts and bolts', I need to pop down there soon anyway to get lots of others for the kit. They'll probably have them. If I have no joy I may send you a u2u.

Cheers again.

M10 X 1.0mm is also a favourite on Jap engines.

Custom Fasteners in Newport are good, they have a web shop.

any self respecting bolt shop should carry M10x1.25. all 3 of my locals do.

however try getting hold of M10x1 prop bolts in anything other than 8.8.......that was a struggle.
