Clearance?

How much space between the transmission and the vertical frame members? Is 1 inch OK?

If you mean fore-and-aft clearance (i.e. the back of the bellhousing) I have just 5mm clearance.

Mine will be about 5 mm. 10 at the very most.

I have around 20 mm to allow for some engine/gearbox movement... Some of you would be surprised to see how much an engine actually moves when accelerating hard.

Since you too are building with a turbo engine I would adivice you to have some extra clearance for when "Mr Tourqe" comes visiting

Looking at your chassis, you don't have much pedal space as your gearbox seems to be right back in the tunnel. You may want to consider if you have enough room to operate the pedals..

If not then you may want to explore moving it forward or offsetting the engine / gearbox slightly to the passenger side.
