Bought the "Crazy Carrot" a couple of weeks back... CBR900rr Fireblade 919cc BEC with around 10k miles on the lump

Unfortunately, after a hoon around the twisties near Battle, East Sussex the gearbox decided to get out and walk!!

TBF, I had been ragging the nuts off it since I had it... The gearbox exploded & sheared one of the gear dogs in half & promptly spat it through the side of the casing leaving a hole the size of a fist!

I've just got another lump with 18k miles on it to transplant (I'll have to remember NOT to bounce it off the limiter!!)

Nice car and Welcome. I think I'm speaking on behalf of the whole locost community when I say we need to see photos of your gearbox catastrophic failure ;-)

Ouch, great pic of an epic failure though. Hope doesn't cause too much of a ball-ache getting it fixed.

Managed to source a reasonably low mile (18k) lump (I just hope it's ok)

Had to buy an engine hoist off EvilBay too
