Essential to use a proper bike oil, I would suggest Putoline or Silkolene - not cheap but an important part of the engine!

The oil recommended by the OEM isn't a bad starting place.

Andy Bates (who knows more than most) recommends Maxim4 in a 10-40 (I think he can get 15-40 which he recommends and you can order from him).

I ran Miller 10-40 which was recommended in the rallydesign catalogue for these applications.

Don't run fully synthetic as it can cause clutch slip problems.

Semi-synth 10W-40 usually. As said don't use fully synth, same goes for mineral oil.

Radical recommend Silkolene Pro 4 15W-50 for their ZZR1100's

Could be they know what they are talking about. Could be they get a good kick back / discount from Silkolene. You be the judge.

Can I just add that the only problem with full-synth seem to occur when changing from semi, as the differing oils cause a film between the clutch plates as I understand. If it helps i've used Castrol Power 1 Racing (full synth) in all my bike engines with no clutch slip issues...
