hi there
wheres the best place to get an gear linkage for an mk with an 893 blade engine?
also will the standard blade throttle cable and clutch cable work or do they need shortening?
thanks stu

The one from MK is "average" but with a bit of fettling can be made good. Have you thought about a control cable shift instead?

does anyone know a ball park for MK paddles and tube to go over the column?

Build your own cable shift?
You can do it, I did

What is everyones opinion of linkages vs cable for gear change.

Surelly linkages are more positive than cables, if cables are better where can i buy one, not got the time to make myself.

Thanks

I broke my cable change this week, the first time I actually used it properly. It wasn't fitted by me so I'd not really paid attention to how it was installed and set up. Badly as it turned out.

To avoid problems like I had it appears that you need to install it between two brackets that don't flex at all. Ideally you should also limit the travel at the lever/paddle. Too easy to pull it too far otherwise.

Anyway, I had a linkage with rods before and I'm going back to that. I'm certain I could make a cable work but I like how robust a linkage is. YMMV.
