Hi,

I'm after a diagram showing how a 893 blade is plumbed in. I got my header tank yesterday and an array of the right size hoses that are connected to the rad and the engine - what I don't know is what connects where on the header tank - specifically the two small top outlets, one is on the main body fo the tank, the other sits on the neck of it.

I also would like advise on how to mount it.

It is a 1ltr cylinder, with flat square base, and will be mounted in the front on the engine bay, near the rad, behind the front chassis rail, near to the front wishbone mounts.

I was considering a strap round the cylinder, but that is tricky to mount on the vertical chassis rail.

Anyone have any pictures of a front mounted header tank (ones on the bulkhad are no good)

Hi, Steve huckerby of Aries supplied me a diagram with my water system goodies which ill gladly let you have, it is drawn with the header where you dont want it but the plumbing/routing has worked great in general and i dont see why the header position cant be changed and lengths altered accordingly.
Personally i rubber mounted mine to avoid the outlets cracking with the vibes of a solid mounted engine, seemed a good idea at the time.

err no scanner sorry should have thought of that.
I simply placed mine on the scuttle ledge to which i had allready attached rubber tool drawer liner as an insulator. It was also tabbed to fasten back to the vertical part of the scuttle with (in my case) rivets. Prior to riveting it i stuck some self adhesive foam rubber strip to insulate from the bulkhead(vertical part of scuttle).
So sorry about the scanning thing, mayhap i could send a pic of the diagram he sent me by email as i cant even work out hosting pics.
God i feel innadequate now.
I will hapilly post the diagram to you.

the water level in a header tank should be the highest point in an effective system or you're going to run into all sorts of problems with air locks and bleeding.

doesn't sound like you're gonna manage that mounting it where you want.

I wonder too mine is highest point as situated(and as illustrated by steve h)

By the way dangle m8 I didnt get the diagram over email it was hand drawn and included with my parcel of goodies. I am going to attempt to photo it,(god im shit, sorry lol)

I can have it higher than the rad top, will that be ok?

Mine is highest point of all, lots of water in the cyl head too if this is above the rad.

The 6mm Rad take off goes into one side of the T piece.
The 6mm Rocker take off goes into another side of the T piece.
The third side of the T piece goes to the Top of the Header Tank.

The bottom of the Header Tank goes to the Bottom Hose coming To/From the Radiator.

The Water Level in the Header has to be the highest point. There is plenty of room to mount it where I ran the hose to it!

I just couldn;t figure out HOW to mount it.

If it's a flat square base , I guess that's designed to sit on the scuttle plate?

Does this help? Its with a blade rad though so the radiator connections may be different if youve got a polo rad etc.
