and a couple of others

First the yellow car.
Nice body, but Aluminium Box chassis is a big no-no from me. It will suffer stress fractures and require rebuilding the chassis.
Second one is a good design except for the front end needs a tidy. It looks like my current project X in side views.
I had better build quicker!!!!

really like the second one!! i bet it's great fun being all open like that

I really like the lines of the yellow car - sort of Ultima meets Mosler. Ally chassis looks tricky but I bet its got a good power to weight ratio.

the ford GT has a similar looking aluminium chasis - I would assume they know how to prevent it cracking.

I liked the second car better - but it seemed a bit heavy compared to a seven

same thought as above, don't like chassis, but body is sweet.

Welded alu is tricky stuff, especially when it gets varying stress.

Second one is another Ariel Atom inspired car off course.

The new weber sportscar which has been discussed for his looks in a recent mid-engine thread, has an alu chassis as well and has to cope with 900bhp and 1020Nm of torque.

I have to say the weber chassis has a much closer/smaller triangulation.

It is a surprise to see so much welded extruded section in the reat chassis. If you go to the RCR website and look at their GT40 replica and Lola T70 replica you will see that they normally use folded sheet aluminium and machined billet. You will also get the impression that they no what they are doing.

I have looked at the welding on one of the GT40 replicas and the work is of very high quality.
