Hi all, I posted this on the Westfield forum, but maybe someone on here can help:
I'm not too far of completion of my Mazda SDV, and so am looking in more detail into what forms I need to fill in etc for the SVA.
I know that in order to qualify for a pre-cat emmissions test I need to provide proof of engine age (it's a '91), and that this can be in
the form of the donor's V5 with the engine serial on it.
The problem is the donor V5 is not currently in my name,althought it is in my possesion. Will this be a problem when I present it at SVA as proof of
the engine's age?

When I bought my part built kit car I had the donor V5. Not in my name, donor barring the parts I had none existant, just sent it of and re-registered in my name. Problem solved
I just showed Mr SVA the old V5 with the correct engine number on it - no problem.
engine number is a sure way, for Ford you can use Burton catalogue.
As for V5 - this question was aksed last week - how does anyone know the engine was not changed from the one origianlly fitted?

Good point - in my case Mr SVA looked up my engine number on a database, failed to find it and then classified it as a non-cat tested engine......
good job too as my emissions were all over the place
