R1 dash SVA Q.
stuart_g - 10/5/08 at 02:04 PM

I can not get the dash within the exempt zone and as the R1 dash will fail if it is outside of the exempt area I have made this fiberglass recess to house it. It will also tilt the dash toward the driver making it easier to read.

Am I right in thinking that anything outside the exempt area will be ok as long as it is below the level of the dash? The recess will be glued around the lip with PU adhesive and is radius'd. The R1 dash is lower than the lip so does not pretrude.

What do you think? Rescued attachment P1010001.JPG

Looks really cool. well done.

If you are still worried you could double sided tape a bit of perspex over it to get it through SVA.

I agree with Hammerhead... I think whatever is used to check radiuses would/might be able to contact the edge of the gauge, so better to put a perpex/lexan cover on at least for the test

I had the same problem and made a shield to cover the area that isn't exempt.
