uncertain engine age

what happens if you can't pove the age of the engine that you're using for SVA/DVLA ?

From what I understand, you will need to pass the latest emissions tests.

As ^^^^^ you'd have to meet the latest emmisions. What sort of engine is it?? I would guess if it was say a Pinto that you might be able to argue that these engines were only made up to a certain date and get it tested at last date of manufacture.

Got to ask though - why cant you prove the engine age?? Do you have an engine number at all?? If you dont then you will have problems come registration time.

it's a Rover T16 turbo engine and with the demise of Rover finding the info to prove the age of the engine is proving to be difficult
