Someone suggested this before and the general opinion was its not needed on a 7 type car due to the low weight

i've fitted these to a few rally cars for people, its good in mk2 escorts etc, but it would be of no use in a 7, steering would be much to light, leading to no feeling in the steering

My mates got one in his corsa rally car- it has a really tight lsd and is very hard work without it. No good for a 7 as you'd turn steering with your pinkie giving no feel :-(

I have fitted a MGF column, it's smaller and lighter than the Corsa. It needs a pot wiring into the ECU loom to replace the speed sensitive input, this gives the choice of degree of assistance or non at all, could fit a girly button instead Do you need power steering? probabley not, but nice at parking speed then switch it off, or if some disability means you have weak arms.
