Steering Lock to lock - Stops
webbey - 21/1/12 at 07:36 PM

Hi there, i am using a serria rack and mx5 uprights and i have too much steering travel, i am thinking of adding some sort of lock stop but i am unsure of what will work, my first thought to get a neat resolve is to add collers to the steering rack where the ball ends screw on to limit its travel, has anyone already done this or have a idea how i can do this?

That's the usual way, I have a couple of collars under the gaitor secured with jubilee clips.

Could you use a jubilee clip, as this would mean minimul dismanteling ?

not sure whether this is allowed nowadays, but it's how I did mine.

jubilee clips under the gators is the usual way to do the job, it is perfectly legal....the MOT folks are not allowed to remove the gators to check so how would they know....

i had a poly bush in the same place as mad-butcher it was about 25mm wide with a slit down the lenth so it was just a matter of pulling the gaitor rubber back and pushing the bush on
