Ive been running the "Smart Pad" on mine since i built it. Its been fine for road use, but ive just got some "Polymatrix A" to try for when i get it on the track

Mintex 1144 on mine. Suspect you'll get a lot of responces recommending them.

I had the WilwoodSmartpads in originally and they weren't very good. Not a lot of bite or feel (hot or cold). They did stop the car but needed a lot of pressure.

Soon switched to Mintex 1144's and got immediate improvement. Bite and feel improved from cold and don't need the same pressure. Haven't had any fadeon track days, or even ragging the car down Alpine passes.

Cheapest place to get them is RallyDesign. I can't even get them cheaper trade through one of my daily suppliers who is a Mintex dealer/stockist.

I replaced my Mintex pads with Hawk and they are much better.....

ashg - 19/9/12 at 10:28 AM

i thought the mintex 1144 were good (much better than smart pads) but they squealed like a bitch even with extra shims sent to me by mintex

rost - 19/9/12 at 11:14 AM

I'm running Polymatrix E, picked them because of the nice chart in the Flyer Wanted a Pad that was able to run a little bit hotter.
Although the pads brake very well, with good feel they dust and squeels like a dying pig
For some reason all pads in this range seem to squeel (1144, DS2500, Red Stuff etc) Seems like they all end up with a similar compound. I've read somewhere that they're all high-metallic compounds.

Mintex ones in mine squeeled like pig every time I pressed the braked, fannyed on with shims and copper grease..

Replaced them with EBC Red Stuff and that was it... SORTED

my 1144 dont make a noise unless I have hammered it around a track for 15mins. Then its not too loud but do make noise.

I have only ever used 1144 with these so cant advise otherwise. Post up on the 750MC for more info and advice on this, I bet they will have a valid opinion.

Hi

The Mintex 1144 only squeal when glazed up. Give them and the disc a quick blocking over and they will be fine.

Cheers Matt

i tried everything even skimmed the discs and even fitted new ones they still squealed. now run yellow stuff and they dont make any noise. the only down side is you have to war them up before they are at their optimum but i can live with that. (although the other day i was a bit keen out the trap and almost didn't slow down from +100mph in to the first corner lol)

Also very happy with Mintex 1144, front and rear, even on track days.
