Coefficient of friction brake pads
MarcV - 4/2/13 at 11:55 AM

Trying to piece together a brake kit for my GKD legend build. Considering the Wilwood Dynapro radial mount calipers at the front. Nice thing about them is (amongst others) the wide choice of pads.

Wilwood gives info on coefficient of friction over temperature for their pads. Is the same available somewhere for EBC and Mintex? Most info I see is use this on street, that on track, other for full-race.

Ofcourse I do realize pad selection is not just about friction, but other aspects are at least covered by subjective comments here and there.

Don't know where you'd get the info/data but I will say, the Wilwood smart pads that I initially had were terrible. No feel, no power, no matter what the temp'. Mintex 1144's are brilliant by comparison in all conditions.

For the Mintex compounds:

Not as detailed as Wilwood's specs but it works
I went with Polymatrix E, seem to work allright but squeel like hell.

+1 for mintex 1144.

I had same difficulty getting info and what I did get was compiled using different basis for testing so was not comparable.

best to suck it and see

Cheers!
