Has any one fitted a Caterham 6 speed box? Are thay a straight swap for a type 9?

I thought they had the longer input shaft?

When I looked into it I am sure they have a 'mid length' input shaft, half way between the short and long shaft. Several people have had to use a 10 or 20mm spacer between the gearbox and bell housing to get the length right.

it aint cheap! if you can get a box for under £2500 you are doing well! also think about ratios and what diff you are going to run with it!

Personally i don't think its worth it unless you are running a bit of a beasty boy under the bonnet!

Thay are not cheap but it looks like there are a fue for sale for around 1300 at the moment. To be honest I wanted to know how had it would be to swap at a later stage as it seams no that bad it can be an upgrade for later.

As suggested, think about the ratios and what your use case is. 6th gear is 1:1, there is no 'overdrive' gear.

The perfect box for track with a 3.9 diff. Not so much if driving on the motorway!

some of the prices quoted on this thread are bonkers. I got my sequential for £1100, should be able to pick up a Caterham 6spd for about £700 max. just need to know where to look, avoid Ebay...

Where did you find the sequential box/ where you recommend looking for a six speed?
